Here’s my schedule for poetry busking – selling poetry-on-demand poems. (See the How It Works page.)
All of my poetry busking, for the time being, will be in the Cafe at the Westgate Earth Fare store – where I worked for four years, took a year off, and came back for three months. In that three months, I got everything I wanted and more. In my new “woke up” state, the magic between me and my customers was even more intense, playful, saucy, mutually affirming and laugh-out-loud-til-you-disrupt-the-other-registers fun and funny. I had a great time with my co-workers and left on very good terms with everyone. I still love spending time in that store more than ever – seeing my many great friends there, having conversations where I don’t have to say “I’ve got two minutes left on my break.”
Oh, and writing poetry – which makes me happier than most everything else.
how it works
There is no chance of Earth Fare being willing to let me put up the sign that I want in the hallways when you come in, so I will just put it here:
PRODUCE TO THE RIGHT
POETRY TO THE LEFT, IN THE CAFE
SCREW THE PRODUCE! COME GET A POEM!
IF, AFTER YOU HAVE PAID MAJO
WHAT THE POEM IS WORTH TO YOU,
YOU HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF MONEY LEFT OVER
THEN YOU CAN GO GET YOU SOME LITTLE BIT OF KALE
